1 Thanksgiving feast~ on Mon Nov 17, 2008 9:05 pm

Who is cooking for Thanksgiving?

what ya having?

I am having the famous>> fried turkey,Brisket,cornbread Dressing,hominy casserole,green beans,deviled eggs
dessert::: Pumpkin Pies,carrot cake.. and whatever family/friends bring, will be about 24 people here..

I am cooking a Turkey, Duck and a spiral Ham, cornbread dressing, mirliton and shrimp casserole, sweet potato casserole,oyster dressing, dirty rice,cauliflower and cheese, green bean casserole, rice and homemade turkey gravy,pineapple upside down cake, pecan pie, pumpkin pie,fresh apple pie, appetizers---crab stuffed mushrooms , spinach-artichoke dip, boiled shrimp, raw oysters . Others are bringing a deep fried Turkey, Mississippi Mud Cake,macaroni salad, coleslaw, potato salad dinner rolls, home made cream puffs and god knows what else, we are expecting 25-30 people.
As a family tradition we take plates to several elderly friends.
Hubby under protest coming home for Turkey-day from deer hunting.

ooops! forgot Giblet gravy, and mashed taters ..

yes we take out several plates to neighbors that have no family.. some are even coming here to eat~ it is like open house LOL

Jesus H Christ I'm comin' to your house to eat you're having everything but the kitchen sink! Wow, never heard of so much food, that's nice you take out plates too thats commendable.

We're not doing anything extraordinary this year we usually don't, just having the traditional oven baked Turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green beans, and rolls. But thats fine by me actually I just go for seconds.

After the deast what does everyone do?

we play scrabble, pool, and pinochle , poker, or canasta..lots of talk,and tall story telling also~ LOL

We usually continue watching the football game, after eating turkey its just about all that anyone wants to do around here..lol I'll probably come back online shortly after.
